The Honors and Scholars Alumni Society is pleased to announce that three current students have been selected to serve as Student Representatives on its Board of Governors. This role is vital to the Society’s mission to enhance the educational experience, advance professional development, promote philanthropic engagement, and foster a sense of community for the alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of The Ohio State University Honors and Scholars Center.
Meet the new Honors and Scholars Alumni Society Student Representatives:
Amrithaa Ashok Kumar is a sophomore data analytics major and member of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Scholars and University Honors programs. She loves all things AI and data science, whether it’s research, entrepreneurship, or industry. This past summer, she worked on making large language models a little less mysterious by building algorithms that help open the “black box,” and had a paper accepted to NeurIPS, the largest machine learning conference in the world. She also partnered with small businesses in Massachusetts, helping them adopt digital tools and designing a business model that projected a 1400% increase in sales.
At Ohio State, Amrithaa serves as an Association of Computing Machinery Women’s Chapter (ACM-W) mentor, supporting women early in their computing journey and helping them find confidence, community, and resources to thrive in tech. Outside the classroom, she enjoys exploring out new matcha spots around Columbus or unwinding at the gym.
Nora Daley is a junior majoring in community leadership & public affairs with a minor in organizational communication. She is excited to serve as a Student Representative on the Honors & Scholars Alumni Society Board, where she looks forward to amplifying student perspectives and strengthening connections with alumni. A Mount Leadership Society Scholar, she leads on campus through her roles as the Chair of Alumni Relations for the Ohio Union Activities Board and a Student Advisory Board member for the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Professionally, Nora applies her strategic skills as a Communications & Corporate Affairs Intern at The Marzetti Company.
Jerachand Senthilkumar is a first year Honors student majoring in biology on the pre-medicine track with a minor in molecular genetics. At Ohio State, he is a part of several clubs such as Undergraduate Research Society (Growth Committee Member), Action4AED (Secretary/Outreach Manager), and OSU Tamil Sangam.
Jerachand also serves as an undergraduate research assistant in the Natarajan Lab at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), where the lab focuses on hematology research. In his free time, he loves playing cricket and volleyball with his friends and plans on going to medical school and becoming an anesthesiologist.
The Honors and Scholars Alumni Society is proud to welcome Amrithaa, Nora, and Jerachand to the Board of Governors and looks forward to the insight and leadership they will bring to the student–alumni community.
