Honors students are able to satisfy some of their Honors course requirements with eligible education abroad credit hours.
Global Honors Credit Hours
All Honors students are required to take at least 18 credit hours of Honors-quality courses to satisfy their Honors graduation requirements under the Honors Standards. Honors students who participate in credit-bearing study abroad experiences may use up to six credit hours of eligible education abroad credit to fulfill this standard.
Eligibility
- Up to six credit hours of the required 18+ credit hours of Honors-quality courses may be satisfied with education abroad credit
- Education abroad coursework must count as graded Ohio State credit
- Courses must be at the 2000 level or above
- 1000 level courses which are specified as Honors (H) or Honors embedded (E) are also eligible
- Education abroad experiences must be credit-bearing and approved by the Office of International Affairs
Students wishing to use education abroad credit to meet their Honors requirements are encouraged to discuss their plans with their Honors advisor.
