Are you looking for some greenery to brighten up your dorm? Do you like to paint? Come join the Honors Community Leadership Council on September 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. in Kuhn House! We will be decorating planters and potting succulents to take home while learning about some helpful plant maintenance tips! Please RSVP as space is limited and plants are first-come-first-serve. Share your ideas, goals, and experiences while helping shape future Honors Network Program opportunities. Enjoy a talk from Honors Program Director Dr. Julie Humbel-Courtney, create your own personalized Success Kit, and participate in three engaging activities designed to gather student feedback and support student success. Curious about undergraduate research in the life sciences? Where to find opportunities, how to approach it, and how to make the most of it? Join the HCAs and a special guest speaker from the Molecular Genetics department to talk about undergraduate research. Munch on some Ritz crackers and accoutrements while listening in about undergraduate research from the perspective of a principal investigator.

"So, You're In Honors...?" is a First Year Success Series (FYSS) presentation that introduces new Honors students to the benefits, opportunities, and expectations of being part of the University Honors Program at Ohio State. Students hear directly from current Honors Community Advocates (HCAs), who share their personal experiences, common challenges they faced during their first year, and strategies for navigating college successfully. The session explores common experiences of high-achieving students, including academic pressure, overcommitment, uncertainty about academic and career paths, and high expectations. Through reflection activities, peer discussion, and HCA stories, students learn practical strategies for success while becoming familiar with key campus resources and support systems. By the end of the presentation, students gain a better understanding of how to make the most of their Honors experience and build a strong foundation for success at Ohio State.
