The Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program proudly honors the Class of 2025 as they conclude four remarkable years at The Ohio State University. This distinguished cohort has demonstrated exceptional dedication, academic excellence, and leadership, paving the way for promising futures. Their journey was commemorated through two celebratory milestone events: the Senior Symposium and Senior Reception.
The Senior Symposium, held in January at the Ohio Union Round Room, featured three sessions during which students sharing their most meaningful Ohio State experiences including academic research, community service, international internships, and global study experiences. Each presentation underscored the unique opportunities afforded by the Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program and highlighted the distinctiveness of each scholars’ contributions.

Reflecting on her experience in the program, graduating senior Olivia Marrero remarked, "Participation in the Stamps Eminence program provided more than financial support; it served as a gateway to opportunities I could not have envisioned on my own. This program granted me the freedom to explore and achieve aspirations beyond my imagination."
The Class of 2025 embarked on their collegiate journey during the challenging era of COVID-19, commencing their interactions virtually due to safety protocols. Despite these initial hurdles, they have emerged as resilient leaders, excelling in their academic and personal endeavors.
Marrero further reflected: "Looking back now, I am proud of how far I have come. I have embraced risks, learned from failures, and continued to strive for success. The Olivia of my high school years could not have fathomed the achievements I have reached today, but I believe she would be proud of the person I have become."
The Senior Reception, held at the Faculty Club, provided an opportunity for scholars to reunite as a class, reflect on their collective journey, and celebrate their accomplishments. Faculty mentors joined the reception, fostering meaningful conversations about past experiences and aspirations for the future.

Dr. Mitchell Lerner, Professor of History, Director of the East Asian Studies Center, and a Stamps Eminence Faculty Fellow of three years, was recognized by the scholars for his invaluable contributions to the program and his commitment to building a dynamic, impactful community.
Second-year scholar Paige Galperin expressed her gratitude for Dr. Lerner’s mentorship: "Dr. Lerner's class encouraged me to step outside my own perspective and consider the world through the lens of others. This experience allowed me to grow significantly as a communicator, citizen, and leader. His seminar stands among the most impactful elements of my Stamps Eminence experience, and his presence is an invaluable asset to our program."
The reception also allowed faculty mentors to share their reflections on the extraordinary intellectual curiosity, resilience, and potential demonstrated by the scholars throughout their tenure at Ohio State.
As the Class of 2025 embarks on new journeys—whether continuing their endeavors at Ohio State or exploring opportunities beyond the university—their achievements serve as a testament to their perseverance, talent, and the transformative impact of the Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program. This celebratory moment not only acknowledges their accomplishments but also anticipates the significant contributions they will make in the years to come.
