Shayaan Rasheed, a junior honors student with a major in Biology and minor in Pharmacology, was awarded a prestigious Amgen Scholarship for his academic achievements, excellence in research, and leadership.
At The Ohio State University, he is a Pelotonia Fellow dedicated to cancer research, and through Amgen, he will conduct STEM research at Duke University this summer.
Not only has Rasheed published papers and won awards for his research at Ohio State, but his advocacy for cancer patients extends to his extracurriculars as the founder of Ohio State’s Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Additionally, he is committed to supporting underserved students as the founder of the Pre-Professional Club that serves students on the university’s five regional campuses.
As a student who has attended both Ohio State's main campus and Ohio State at Marion during his academic career, he has been a leader across campuses.
After graduation, he plans to pursue a MD/PhD in cancer biology and conduct cancer research to target mechanisms of cancer through novel therapeutic design.
