President Kristina M. Johnson sent the following email to The Ohio State University community on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
The verdict is now in for the trial concerning the murder of George Floyd. This, no doubt, releases many emotions and feelings due to the tragedy that occurred on May 25, 2020.
I hear and honor these feelings. Now more than ever, we need to take care of each other and engage peacefully and respectfully.
I encourage anyone to take advantage of the resources that our university provides for all campuses available on the Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s website. More will be added in the coming days.
It is part of our university’s mission to foster open and honest dialogue to bring about real and sustained change. It is what we do as Buckeyes, and what we will continue to do.
