Leanne Hively was looking for a big town university to attend when she was looking at colleges. What she found were her best friends and passions.
Why did you choose The Ohio State University?
I chose The Ohio State University because I wanted to attend college at a larger university after growing up in a small town. Ohio State offers so many opportunities from student organizations to research and I fell in love with it when I went on my first tour.
Why did you choose health sciences as a major?
I chose to major in exercise science because I knew I wanted to attend physical therapy school and thought the exercise science major would best prepare me for my future plans.
How has The Ohio State Scholars Program contributed to your college experience?
Honors and Scholars has contributed to my college experience by allowing me to find my best friends at college and become involved in other student organizations. I was also provided opportunities to network with peers who were also pursuing or involved in the same career path as me. Through Dunn Sport and Wellness Scholars (DSWS), I've had the chance to mentor other students and give back some of my knowledge to the program's first and second years.
What is your why for wearing a mask?
My why for wearing a mask is so one day we can attend sporting events again and be able to graduate in the Shoe.
What does #TogetherAsBuckeyes mean to you?
#TogetherAsBuckeyes means that together as students, faculty, and staff, we are being resilient to our current circumstances and helping each other through this unprecedented time.
Are there any professors or staff who have helped you?
Dr. Carmen Swain helped me along with my collegiate career by being a resource to me and answering any questions I had about school and life in general.
What are some of your most memorable moments at Ohio State?
One of my most memorable moments at Ohio State was when all the DSWS students went and had a photoshoot in the Shoe. It was amazing being able to be in the field and see the entire stadium from that point of view!
What are your goals and plans for the future?
I plan on attended physical therapy school.
