Why did you choose The Ohio State University?
I chose Ohio State because I loved the pre-dentistry program and thought it would be a less stressful transition from undergrad to professional school. Not only that, but I was attracted to the diversity and numerous amounts of opportunities available for students from all kinds of backgrounds.

I picked STEM Scholars because I liked how they focused on the well-roundedness of students by providing out-of-classroom activities and opportunities.
How has The Ohio State Scholars Program contributed to your college experience?
I am now the academic explorations coordinator for STEM Scholars. I was able to obtain research and shadowing opportunities that are beneficial for my dental application. With that, I can provide underclassmen in my scholars group with research opportunities and explore various labs, graduate and professional schools, and professors that can be found on campus.
Are there professional staff members that have assisted you on your Ohio State journey?
Dr. Andrea Baldwin was my organic chemistry one and two lecture professor. Despite how much she expected out of us, I learned that this information would stick with me and better prepare me for my dental admissions test and future classes that implement the objectives of organic chemistry into their material.

Wearing a mask can help slow the curve and protect so many people.

The club fair and Buckeye Frenzy stuck to me because I was able to see the plethora of student organizations here in one spot. There is a club for almost everything at Ohio State. What is something true about your life now that you never would've expected?
When I was younger, I modeled for Macy's and aspired to become a model, photographer, and journalist. I never wanted to delve into the field of STEM, but here we are. I won fifth place nationally for my high school journalism portfolio. Despite how there isn't much relation to dentistry or STEM, it allowed me to learn about communication, other fields, struggles, societal issues.
What are your goals and plans for the future?
My goals and plans for the future are to go to dental school and potentially specialize in orthodontics. Not only that, but I want to travel to third world countries and help fund or create organizations that promote the importance of good and clean hygiene for all generations.
