Schwarzman Scholars

Each year, a cohort of 140 Schwarzman Scholars (40% from the U.S., 40% international, and 20% from China) are selected to develop leadership skills while obtaining a funded one-year master’s degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Whether in politics, business or science, the success of future leaders around the world will depend upon an understanding of China’s role in global trends. The program focuses on leadership, building global relationships, and navigating geopolitical complexity. Students will live and study together on the campus of Schwarzman College, a newly-built, state-of-the-art facility, where all classes will be taught in English.

• Completed undergraduate degree prior to enrollment

• Open to students in all degrees and fields

• Age 18-28

• Must be highly proficient in English (no test required for those who completed a degree in the U.S.)

• Students with any nationality/passport can apply.

  • Leadership essay (750 words)
  • Statement of purpose (500 words)
• College transcripts
• 3 letters of recommendation (from people who can speak to intellectual abilities, personal characteristics & leadership potential with specific examples from working with you)
