THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
2009 PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Ohio State University’s Presidential Scholarship is one of the University’s
most prestigious scholarships for incoming freshmen. Established in 1991, the
Presidential Scholarship currently supports some of our most promising
undergraduates as they develop into future scholars and leaders. The
Presidential Scholarship awards full in-state tuition, room and board, book
allowance and miscellaneous expenses.
In addition to receiving financial support, Presidential Scholars become members
of The Ohio State University’s Honors Collegium, a select group of students in
the University Honors Program. The Honors Collegium is a program for purposeful
students who expect to distinguish themselves beyond the baccalaureate degree.
Members of the Collegium create customized learning experiences, embrace
rigorous academics, and go on to become intellectual leaders in the global
community.
After reviewing all online scholarship applications, Maximus essay scores, and
other data, selected students will be named as finalists and invited to attend
the Interview Weekend scheduled for Sunday, March 8 through Monday, March 9,
2009. Following this weekend, ten individuals will be named Ohio State
University Presidential Scholars. Please note that due to the format of our
finalist interview process, we are unable to offer alternate interview dates.
To be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, a student must:
- Be named a
Maximus
Scholar
- Register for and compete in the Maximus Competition
- Complete the Honors Online Scholarship Application (HOSA) by February 2, 2009.
